Three-Car Crash Kills One and Injures Two Others in North Carolina

What Happened:

According to a Camden County Sheriff, a car carrying three people on NC 343 near Lake Road in Camden County, NC, was hit by another car traveling in the other direction. The first car was then hit again, adding up to a three-car accident. One of the people from the northbound car was tragically killed in the accident, and two others were taken by helicopter and ambulance a hospital.

The North Carolina Injury Lawyer’s Perspective:

While investigators are still trying to piece together exactly what happened, it appears that the three victims from the northbound car are most likely not at fault, regardless of which one was driving. Even if no charges are ever filed, a civil lawsuit may be filed on behalf of the deceased victims or by the injured victims to compensate them or their families for lost income, medical and funeral expenses, pain and suffering, and loss of consortium. Punitive damages may also be requested, which serve to punish the individual that caused the pain and suffering of these victims. There is a limit on the amount of time allowed to file a lawsuit, called a statute of limitations, so it is important to contact an experienced NC car accident attorney sooner rather than later.
